Breaking the still of the night, the New York Central heritage unit leads crude oil train 64W past the historic depot in Waterloo. The depot was built in 1883 by the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railroad, which was taken over by the New York Central in 1914. The depot was moved a few hundred yards from its original location, restored between 2005 and 2011, and is used today for community events. The old structure has surely seen many other New York Central units in its lifetime, being situated along a former high-speed NYC mainline.
